2021-2022 PTA Budget
Please see the PTA Proposed Budget for SY 21-22 that will be voted on by the PTA general membership on at the next PTA meeting, which is
set for October 13th at 7:30pm. We ended SY 20-21 with just under $40,000 in our PTA bank account. The proposed budget for SY 21-22 allows
for a deficit to spend some of those excess funds.

An overview of your PTA funds at Work
PTA volunteering and fundraising will support the following programs & more at Wakefield Forest Elementary School:
Academic Enrichment & Supplies – funding for art, music and character education for all students.
Academic Support – funding for math and reading intervention consultants, the purchase curriculum materials and supplies to enhance instructional programs
Assemblies – funding for educational & fun assemblies that enrich and enhance curriculum and new academic initiatives.
Kindergarten Summer Assessments – funding to work with all rising kindergarten students and prepare their academic program.
Mindfulness Training – funding to continue expanding the Mindfulness Training program.
Newcomers, Buddy Programs & Kindergarten Playdates – funding to welcome all our new families to help aide their transition to WFES.
Odyssey of the Mind – funding to sponsor student teams working on creative problem-solving methods while having fun
Reflections program and workshop – funding to support showcasing students’ creative works and talents in the areas of: writing, music, visual arts, photography, choreography and videography.
School Directory – provide telephone, address, class, and email reference for parents and students.
School Program Enhancements – funding to support the leadership and incentive programs available for our children (5th and 6th grade Electives program, Safety Patrols, Student Council Association program)
Spelling Bee – funding to sponsor and host a school-wide Spelling Bee as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
S.T.E.A.M – funding to support our exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math initiatives.
Teacher Support – funding for substitute teacher coverage for all teachers’ continuing education and grade level quarterly student progress reviews.
Technology – funding for additional laptops and mobile lab computer carts to continue the 1:1 computer-to-student ratio.
